Victorian Jack Graves wins Opti Australian Nationals for 2012

Posted on: January 23rd, 2012 by sailingshack No Comments

Jack Graves one of Victoria’s most talented young dinghy sailors added the Australian Optimist Championship to his Australian Minnow Championship at the Opti Nationals just completed at RQYS in Queensland. Jack also won overall beating all internationals and 120 competitors in a windy series sailed in a short steep chop on Moreton Bay.
This is big win for VIODA who have been slower in the uptake of the Opti than W.A. and NSW however given the results of other Victorians such as James Grogan who was 6th Australian, Tyron Gowans, Sam Danks and Daniel Quinlan all the Victorian coaching programs must be paying off. Full results at the RQYS web site.
