After almost 20 years absence from the class we return to the J-24. Why? Simple really our principal club Sandringham Yacht Club has 20 plus J-24’s on the hard stand being actively raced, the represent incredible value for money and there is still a large active world association and while the boats are not built new in Australia any longer they are built overseas new and you thanks to the online world you can buy plenty of new accessories and parts. Our boat in “Make My Jay” which I have known since it was bought new by colleague Phil Coombs and sailed in the 1994 Worlds by Paul Forester. We would like to thank the following people for our entry back into what Bob Ross the founder of Australian Sailing Magazine called the “Laser with a Lid”, Simon Grain the immediate past owner of MMJ and linchpin of J-24’s in Victoria, Peter Stevens for his support and the Ronstan Racing team for the supply of new Orbit blocks, Swivel blocks and accessories.
