The Victorian Minnow State Championships have concluded at Parkdale Yacht Club, with testing and hot conditions for the 54 competitors in the open and novice fleets.
Highlights for the weekend was Hugo Llewelyn winning back to back Minnow State Championships strong numbers in the Junior and Novice fleet continuing to improve their sailing in this class. This is a great comeback for Hugo after a tough nationals in Perth.
PYC provide a fun filled atmosphere and a fantastic vantage point for the families and friends of the sailors with the action only a few hundred metres off-shore.
A big thank you to the main sponsor for the regatta, Sport Phillip Marine for the vast array of prizes for the kids, including LED torches, snorkeling gear, watches, gear boxes and even a hair straightener!

The next MSA sailing event is the OAMPS Youth regatta at SSCBC on 14th & 15th April and the Minnows are an invited class. A two day training program is planned to be run leading up to this great event so keep your eyes on the minnow website for more details.
The MSA Training and Development Squad program will be up and running again this year and more information will be available soon.
The 2013 Minnow Nationals will be at SSCBC between 14th and 18th January 2013, so start preparing for plenty of sailing next season.
