The Tornado was designed almost 30 years ago, specifically to be an Olympic Class catamaran.
This boat is built for speed, and while mainly used for racing, there is nothing to beat the thrill of a long hard reach across the lake or harbour. This boat is not for the faint hearted. With the Olympic rig with dual trapeze and large spinnaker this boat is fast.
The Tornado still reigns supreme as the fastest production catamaran in the world. It is a showplace for both the skill of the sailors and for the technology available to our sport for a production boat. Many Australians have successfully campaigned the Tornado such as Glenn Ashby and Darren Bundock, Chris Cairns, Mitch Booth and many others.
