The Victorian dinghy championships were raced from Mordialloc Sailing Club on November 13th/14th. The Saturday racing greeted competitors with driving rain, low cloud and 15-17 knot breezes. The rain did not let up all day and was torrential at times. To their credit MSC race officials got in four races even though it was very cold in between races. Many competitors learned the value of great wet weather gear and especially a wind breaker jacket. Day two was greeted with light winds and over cast day but thankfully no rain. 70 competitors from Musto Skiffs to Optimists competed and this was also the Laser Port Phillips so there was a strong contingent of Laser in full rig, Radial and 4.7’s. The visiting Flying 11’s from NSW won the regatta overall. Worth the trip down guys!
