Well the drought has well and truly broken in Victoria. In July this year we took a look at Cairn Curran Reservoir in central Victoria near the towns of Castlemaine and Maldon and it was a mere puddle. It had been this way for many years forcing the local sailing club almost into closure and members to sail many miles away. But the water is back! I have not sailed on the lack since the early 70’s so we are attending the regatta at the lake in early November. If you want to sail on a piece of history head up to Cairn Curran on November 6th and 7th for two day regatta five races all up. Should be a blast.
